Beyond high-level financing discussions, COWHA continues to engage in the technical policy processes that directly influence women’s access to care.

COWHA participated in Kenya’s National Cancer Control Programme TWG, which is working closely with the Non-Communicable Diseases Intersectoral Coordinating Committee to strengthen cancer prevention, treatment, and survival outcomes. The TWG brings together government, development partners, civil society, academia, and the private sector to help shape national priorities, implementation approaches, and technical guidelines that inform cancer care across the country.

The group’s work is guided by Kenya’s National Cancer Control Strategy (2023–2027) and demonstrates how policy, delivery, financing, and partnership must move together to improve outcomes. For COWHA, participation in these processes ensures that women’s health perspectives are reflected not only in public commitments, but also in the policies, guidelines, and systems that ultimately determine access to care.
