The Information Technology Telecommunications unit is seeking a full-time permanent Information Technology Specialist II. This position is responsible for performing and coordinating all design and operational aspects of State Funds telecommunication infrastructure and services. The projects assigned to the team have enterprise-wide impact in the technology infrastructure including the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of State Fund’s telephone systems supporting the entire enterprise.

Under direction of the Operations Support Manager, the incumbent will:

• Plan, design, develop, and perform maintenance and delivery of enterprise VoIP solutions within State Fund
• Be responsible for the analysis, design, testing, implementation, and post implementation support of highly complex Telecommunication and call center systems. 
• Work with staff and vendor resources to ensure successful completion of planned product and customer enhancements

Desired Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a technical emphasis or equivalent.
2. A minimum of three (3) years hands-on Telecommunications experience (AVAYA)

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in IT project management.

1. Demonstrable ability to cultivate working relationships with diverse business areas.
2. Ability to mentor/lead personnel.
3. Prior experience working with vendors and vendor management

This position requires proficient knowledge or the ability to learn the following:

1. Telecommunications infrastructure/software/processes, and process improvement. (such as AVAYA, Call Management Systems, Call accounting, Call Center, IVR, Oceana, Five9)
2. Telecommunication security and vulnerability resolution.
3. Contact Center operations
4. UCaaS
5. Telecom Cloud technologies

New to state candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of the alternate salary range when applicable. Placement to an alternate salary range may be based on education or experience identified in your state application.

Working Conditions

Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.

Special Requirements

Resumes submitted in lieu of the STD 678 may not be accepted. Completed STD 678 must include duties performed, start and end dates, and hours worked per week for each position held.

The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
