SUMMARY:Ghana Roundtable Session
DESCRIPTION:In May\, we organized a stakeholders’ discussion through an exclusive roundtable session that focused on the “Elimination and Treatment of Women’s Cancers in Sub-Saharan Africa”. This roundtable session happened on the sidelines of the 2nd  Africa Women’s Health Symposium and brought together key experts\, healthcare leaders and government representatives from Ghana and across Africa to discuss the urgent need for unified action against women cancers. \nThroughout the session\, the resounding Call-to-Action from all speakers echoed a singular message: The Time to Act is Now! Emphasis was placed on shifting focus from theoretical discussions on women’s cancers to implementing evidence-based preventive measures through collaborative efforts.

SUMMARY:Women Deliver Conference
DESCRIPTION:Women Deliver is a leading global advocate for the health\, rights and wellbeing of girls and women. The Women Deliver conference catalyzes action by bringing together diverse voices and interests to drive progress for gender equality\, with a particular focus on maternal\, sexual\, and reproductive health and rights. The 2023 Women Deliver conference that saw over 6\,000 delegates provided COWHA a platform listen to the voices for Women and allowed COWHA to speak up on its mission on African girls and women’s health.  COWHA successfully hosted an official side session focused on the theme “The role of the private sector in advancing women’s health in Africa.” This session brought forth an opinion piece publication and a report that further highlighted the coalition’s purpose.

DESCRIPTION:Women in Africa bear a huge proportion of disease and mortality rates compared to other parts of the world. To initiate and accelerate action towards the advancement of women’s health in Africa\, the Coalition for Women’s Health in Africa (COWHA)\, a membership-based private health sector action platform was formed. The Coalition was officially launched by H.E Dr. Ergogie Tesfaye (PhD)\, Minister of Women and Social Affairs\, Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia on 9th November 2022 in Addis Ababa\, Ethiopia.
